SEATAC, Wash. — The Transportation Security Administration has rolled out new procedures at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and other airfields in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 by implementing social distancing and contact-less security sweeps.
The biggest safety protocol changes involves boarding passes, which won't be given to the TSA agent at the security line.
Instead, travelers will retain their boarding passes and hold it up so the TSA agent can visually inspect it. Passengers will then be instructed to place their drivers license or passport into an electronic card reader that will verify its authenticity.
"The use of this self-service system reduces touchpoints in the security checkpoint," the agency said in a written statement.
The measures are part of TSA's “Stay Healthy. Stay Secure" campaign, which calls for TSA agents to wear face masks and gloves during the screening process. In some instances, the federal worker may also wear eye protection or a face shield, according to the statement.

New York (CNN Business)Rapper Travis Scott is about to become the first celebrity to have their name on McDonald's menu since Michael Jordan's "McJordan" nearly 30 years ago.
The Grammy Award-nominee loves McDonald's Quarter Pounders with Cheese so much the company decided to name the burgers after him -- for a limited time. It will be called the Travis Scott Meal.
McDonald's (MCD) confirmed its new partnership with Scott and his record label, Cactus Jack, in a tweet and a Thursday morning statement announcing the month-long promotion, which begins Tuesday and ends October 4.

A recent test measured 1,502 horsepower at the wheels.
In April, Ford unveiled an all-electric version of its factory drag car called the Mustang Cobra Jet 1400. Details were limited at the time, but Ford announced it was a one-off prototype. The automaker designed it in parallel with Ford's other high-powered EV race car, the Mach-E 1400. A new video shows the high-powered electric coupe at the drag strip where it clocked an 8.27-second quarter-mile time at 168 miles per hour (270 kilometers per hour).
Ford worked with Cascadia Motion on the powertrain, which has four motor total that can spin up to 10,000 revolutions per minute. Each motor has a maximum output of 350 kilowatts, totaling 1,400 horsepower (1,044 kilowatts) and 1,100 pound-feet (1,491 Newton-meters) of torque. However, a recent development test recorded 1,502 hp (1,120 kW) at the car's wheels, exceeding a testing target.
